The Complex Event Processing Blog: This is certainly an interesting subject. As I have seen business process management (BPM) become more ubiquitous, I have also noticed a trend where the processes being automated have greater needs. As opposed to simple "Sales Order Management" or "Employee Roll On" processes being automated today, the average customer is looking to provide more value to their automated process. As such, I see this as a great opportunity for
BPM to take advantage of CEP. I definitely agree that CEP is not BPM as well as BPM not being CEP. Rather, I see that automated business processes that leverage CEP can make the
BPM users more effective and efficient in providing real-time value to the end customer. More and more, as I talk to customers who are looking to get a greater return out of their business processes, I am talking to them about CEP and how it can increase
ROI for them exponentially if it is implemented correctly. I am excited about the advantages that CEP has introduced to BPM to this point, and will continue to track it going forward.

With the new release of Ultimus Adaptive BPM Suite V8.1, Ultimus continues to strengthen its product strategy by leveraging the latest Microsoft technologies available today. As noted in Dennis Byron's blog, there is a "strong parallel universe of Microsoft Windows business process management (BPM) users." Ultimus has long recognized this expansive Microsoft user base and provides a full suite of collaborative features enabling them to accelerate their business' performance.
Highlights of Microsoft integrations with the Ultimus Adaptive BPM Suite 8.1 include:
Dennis Byron and Michael Dortch are seasoned analysts in the IT industry. In their years of service they have researched and evaluated numerous organizations, solutions, and industry best practices in the BPM space. Ultimus is appreciative to have recently had the opportunity to discuss Ultimus V8.1 with them. With this review, Ultimus is excited to see that such experts find value in Ultimus' product strategy going forward.

I am excited to announce the availability of Ultimus Adaptive BPM Suite 8.1! One of the great benefits of our Ultimus product release strategy is that we're able to be "adaptive" and quickly add functionality that improves the value of the product for Ultimus' customers. Ultimus Adaptive BPM Suite 8.1 not only provides new features to address some of the most common requests we hear from our customers, but also provides numerous changes that round out Ultimus V8.0 (in terms of usability, performance, and scalability).
As we all know, software application development is a never ending job. In fact, work and planning has already begun on Ultimus Adaptive BPM Suite 8.2. Our planned December 2008 release will continue to provide award-winning innovation, new technology adoption, and robustness to Ultimus Adaptive BPM Suite. I welcome everyone to review all Ultimus V8.1 print documentation and utilize the Ultimus Knowledge Center to share your experiences and collaborate with one another to drive home success.

Welcome to All Ultimus Friends,
Customers, Prospects, Analysts, Educators, Business Leaders & Followers and Shareholders.
With the launch of a new website, we join the social networking masses and add a blog. Well, it's not the biggest leap a company can make right now but it certainly seems like everyone has one and so . . . why not? Ultimus takes BPM very seriously. We have been in the business for 14 years as users, consultants, and providers, and we literally have written the book on it ("Business Pocess Management: A Practical Guide" by Founder Rashid Kahn). Our hope is that through this communication vehicle we all find a way to benefit from the dialog. BPM trends, industry movement and changes, departmental and enterprise software needs: these are the types of discussions we plan to initiate, and we will bring in our executive team to participate.
I am reminded of a Winston Churchill quote which goes something like this, "Courage is what it takes to stand up and speak; courage is also what it takes to sit down and listen." So, with a little courage to both speak and to listen, I invite you to join our team here at Ultimus in contributing to our blog.
