Ultimus BPM Press Release

Ultimus Announces Comprehensive eLearning Portal

Blended approach delivers training flexibility and customization for the entire BPM Suite

CARY, NC (November 6, 2008) - Ultimus, Inc., developer of one of the most widely-deployed business process management software suites in the world, today announced the availability of its new eLearning portal, Ultimus Online Training. Using the latest technologies and training methods, this initiative offers Ultimus partners and customers on-demand and self-paced learning for the full BPM suite in a collaborative environment.

Recognizing that people learn in different ways, Ultimus Online Training not only offers engaging course format to meet each individual’s learning style, but also abandons the traditional cookie-cutter approach to classroom training by providing role-oriented lessons by user type. This allows executives, business analysts, developers and end users to all receive training based on how they’ll be using Ultimus.

Online course content is reinforced through a combination of lecture, documentation, video screencasts, interactive quizzes, and hands-on lab exercises that are performed in a virtual environment. Students are allowed the opportunity to learn at their own pace (pause, rewind, or replay the lesson as often as needed), as well as to fully customize their learning experience by building their own course curriculum based on business process requirements.

Ultimus Online Training is a subscription-based community that allows members the ability to not only browse and enroll in all available online courses for the full Ultimus Adaptive BPM Suite, but also the opportunity to participate in scheduled “webcast workshops” that focus on best practices. Additionally, members can collaborate with Ultimus training staff and fellow global learners via community forums and blogs to ask questions and share experiences.

“We’re looking to our online community to drive our future training offerings,” said Chris Heivly, Executive Vice President at Ultimus. “Instead of simply reiterating instructions and conveying best practices to our customers and partners, we’re looking for them to share their unique and forward-thinking ways in applying BPM methodologies and utilizing our products and services. We want to learn from them and then apply it to future training modules, workshops, webcasts and more.”

eLearning courses provide an economical approach for organizations with limited training budgets. Students can gain the fundamental knowledge they need from their office or at home without the added travel expense. For more advanced and customized training, Ultimus offers instructor-led workshops that can be delivered in any of our worldwide training centers or onsite. Both online and classroom offerings are designed to complement one another, delivering a fully blended approach to learning that helps accelerate an organization’s time to performance.

“As a strategic technology management consulting firm and new partner to Ultimus, we believe the eLearning platform will be a strong differentiator in the BPM marketplace,” said Liz Dunn, principal analyst, Edgewater Technology, Inc. “After having personally gone through the Version 8 Fundamentals developer-focused training, I am now better equipped to implement solutions that best meet our customers’ needs using the Ultimus Adaptive BPM suite, and I can see true value in this type of blended training approach for our staff and our clients as well.”

The current course offerings of V8 Fundamentals will be followed by Intermediate and Advanced lessons, in addition to V8 Administrator and V7 Basics.
