Leigh Michl

Chairman and Chief Executive Officer

Leigh Michl has been the CEO of Ultimus since 2009 and a director since 2007. Prior to Ultimus, Leigh spent 24 years in the venture capital and private equity industry where he focused on the information technology and technology-enabled business services markets. He was a founder and Managing Director of Ascent Venture Partners and a Partner at Advent International. Leigh also held audit and business analysis positions at The Pioneer Group, Inc. and completed General Electric Company’s Financial Management Program. He had been Chairman of the Mad River Glen Cooperative and a member of the President’s Advisory Committee and Investment Committee of the Berklee College of Music. Leigh holds a bachelor's degree in economics from Bates College and a master's degree in finance from Boston College.

Karl Freiheit

President

Karl Freiheit has 25 years of operating experience in IT hardware, software and consulting companies and has been focused on delivering customer success in the Business Process Management market since 1996. Prior to joining Ultimus in 2001, he held various sales and management positions at multinational corporations including NCR and Compunet and was the Founder and Managing Director of i-media consulting, an internet/intranet solutions company. Karl earned a master degree in computer science from the University of Federal Armed Forces Germany in Munich and holds an executive MBA degree of the GSBA Zurich, Switzerland.

Dany Aoun

Dany Aoun joined Ultimus in 2005 as the head for the Middle East and Africa operations and was the head of Worldwide Sales from 2009 to 2014. Prior to joining Ultimus, Dany held various leadership positions with IBM, Oracle, and EMC. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering from American University in Beirut.
