Turkcell Achieves Continuous Improvement of Business Processes with the Ultimus BPM Suite

Turkey’s Leading Mobile Communications Provider Saves 1,000,000 Euros Per Year and Cuts Business Process Cycle Times by 88 Percent with Market Leading BPM Suite

Cary, N.C. — October 30, 2007 — Ultimus, the #1 provider of Business Process Management (BPM) and workflow software and solutions, with more than 1,600 customers worldwide, today announced that Turkcell (NYSE: TKC, ISE: TCELL), the leading provider of mobile communications services in Turkey, has experienced tremendous cost and time benefits from optimizing business processes with the Ultimus BPM Suite. Thus far, the company has reduced the cycle times of its processes by 88 percent, from an average of 65 minutes, per incident, to 8 minutes. This equates to a savings of approximately 1,000,000 euros per year.

As the leading human-centric BPM platform, the Ultimus BPM Suite gives organizations the market advantage of improved operational efficiencies. To stay ahead in the tough, ever-changing communications industry, Turkcell aspired to improve customer service, and employee productivity. Additionally, the firm knew it could become much more competitive by shortening cycle times, adapting processes to a changing market and introducing new products to market with unprecedented speed.

In the past, Turkcell utilized paper forms, which created an enormous amount of wasted time, with no way to identify when a process got stuck, delayed or lost along the way. As with any manual processes, human errors were common, causing unnecessary delays and frustration. The company deployed the Ultimus BPM Suite to analyze, model, automate, manage and optimize its corporate processes. Ultimus’ advanced integration tools made it easy to integrate the application with many existing systems, including Oracle ERP, the Partner Management System and Turkcell’s own HR software. With this dynamic link to corporate IT systems, data is easily transmitted back and forth between the Ultimus BPM Suite, as needed.

To date, Turkcell has automated 28 key processes in its Human Resources, Finance, Customer Service and Service and Product Development groups using the Ultimus BPM Suite. For example, the company has improved financial efficiency by automating its purchasing processes. Additionally, the firm has fostered collaboration and sped product development through optimization of processes involving the suggestion, analysis, development and testing of new products and services. The system automatically informs employees via e-mail and SMS when they have delayed incidents. Escalation management allows managers to track any delays in processes to intervene and resolve issues faster.

“Automating key processes using the Ultimus BPM Suite provides organizations with an unparalleled level of transparency,” said Karl Freiheit, Vice President and General Manager EMEA of Ultimus. “In the case of Turkcell, its quality assurance staff can now continually examine process flow and identify points for improvement. This way the company has a means to continually raise the bar in its service quality and overall efficiency.”
