Leading United Arab Emirates Bank Deploys Ultimus BPM Suite to Gain Continuous Process Improvements |
Sharjah Islamic Bank uses the Ultimus BPM Suite to automate and standardize information management and faculty appointment processes |
CARY, N.C. - October 8, 2006 - Ultimus, the #1 provider of Business Process Management (BPM) and workflow software and solutions, with more than 1,600 customers worldwide, today announced that Sharjah Islamic Bank (SIB), a leading Islamic financial services institution, has chosen the Ultimus BPM Suite as part of its strategic goal to achieve greater agility, efficiency and process visibility. With the Ultimus BPM Suite in place, the Bank hopes to foster a culture that encourages initiatives where employees are engaged in continuous improvement.
The bank's Information Management & Technology Division uses the Ultimus BPM Suite to automate high-volume internal business processes, such as employee requests for technology support, system access and Web Services. The software provides greater visibility into internal processes, enabling management to gauge employee productivity against established Service Level Agreements (SLAs). In addition, the bank endeavors to streamline processes through the elimination of paper records.
"In the banking and financial services industry, where competition is fierce, regulatory demands are high and products are primarily standardized, the uniqueness of an institution's process delivery can provide a distinct competitive advantage," said Hussain Ahmad Al Qemzi, Chief Executive Officer of Sharjah Islamic Bank. "We have chosen the Ultimus BPM Suite to gain process visibility, enabling us to instantaneously impact the customer experience. We are proud to supplement our internal quality and business process re-engineering efforts with our partner, Ultimus, which through its diversified experience and global presence, will continue to add value to the bank's operations."
In addition, SIB will focus heavily on front-end channels for processes that enhance customer intimacy. Its 24x7 contact center will integrate its customer service agent interactions by recording and routing customer inquiries and discrepancies to centralized support functions for improved response times. Additionally, the bank intends to leverage the Ultimus solution, in conjunction with other systems, across its channels so that a customer's experience can be satisfied and managed by any of the bank's service and relationship management staff, regardless of the time of the day or point of customer contact.
"SIB was seeking to reduce the time-to-market of deploying new processes," said Karl Freiheit, Vice President EMEA, of Ultimus. "With the Ultimus BPM Suite in place, they have gained the ability to enhance processes at will. They have also realized the benefit of using process automation as a platform for other areas of the business, including their customer service initiatives. Process goes well beyond the internal realm of communication and SIB is a perfect example of an organization who understands this premise and has brought its process automation needs to the next level."
