For 5th Consecutive Year, Ultimus Ranked Among Fastest Growing Technology Companies in North America on the 2005 Deloitte Technology Fast 500

Cary, North Carolina – Oct. 19, 2005 - Ultimus, the leading provider of Business Process Management (BPM) and Workflow Automation software and services that enable the shortest time to value, today announced that that it ranked Number 320 on the 2005 Deloitte Technology Fast 500, up from 446 for the previous year. The Deloitte Technology Fast 500 is a ranking of the 500 fastest growing technology companies in North America. Rankings are based on percentage revenue growth over five years, from 2000–2004. Ultimus grew 442 percent during this period.

“Making the Deloitte Technology Fast 500, for five consecutive years, is an accomplishment in today’s highly competitive technology industry,” said Tony Kern, deputy national managing principal of Deloitte’s Technology, Media & Telecommunications industry practice.  “We congratulate Ultimus on being one of the 500 fastest growing technology companies in North America and wish the company continued success within the BPM industry, as well as the technology industry as a whole.”

Fueling the company’s continued growth has been the increase in demand for BPM solutions across a variety of industries. Over the course of the last five years, Ultimus has used this demand for BPM to steadily expand its global and technological footprint. Through international offices, as well as the launch of Ultimus’ revolutionary Adaptive Discovery™, the company has significantly improved its ability to build and sustain traction in emerging markets and is primed to continue in its position as the leading provider of pure-play business process management.

“We are honored to be ranked among the 500 fastest growing technology companies in North America for the 5th consecutive year.” said Rashid Khan, co-founder and CEO of Ultimus. “The company’s 442 percent growth over the last five years is not only a testament to the increased adoption of BPM, but the effort and hard work of Ultimus to ensure that our customers are not only maximizing their investment in our technology, but that they have a solid understanding of the value that human centric process automation can bring to their organizations.”

The Fast 500 list is compiled from Deloitte’s 15 regional North American Fast 50 lists, nominations submitted directly to the Fast 500, and the public company database research. To qualify for the Fast 500, entrants must have had 2000 operating revenues of at least $50,000 USD or $75,000 CD for the United States and Canada, respectively, and 2004 operating revenues of at least $1 million USD or CD.

Entrants must be headquartered in North America and must be a “technology company,” defined as a company that owns proprietary technology that contributes to a significant portion of the company’s operating revenues; or devotes a significant proportion of revenues to the research and development of technology. Using other companies’ technology in a unique way does not qualify.
