Leigh Michl, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer
Leigh Michl has been the CEO of Ultimus since 2009 and a director since 2007. Prior to Ultimus, Leigh spent 24 years in the venture capital and private equity industry where he focused on the information technology and technology-enabled business services markets. He was a founder and Managing Director of Ascent Venture Partners and a Partner at Advent International. Leigh also held audit and business analysis positions at The Pioneer Group, Inc. and completed General Electric Company’s Financial Management Program. He had been Chairman of the Mad River Glen Cooperative and a member of the President’s Advisory Committee and Investment Committee of the Berklee College of Music. Leigh holds a bachelor's degree in economics from Bates College and a master's degree in finance from Boston College.

Karl Freiheit, President Karl Freiheit has 25 years of operating experience in IT hardware, software and consulting companies and has been focused on delivering customer success in the Business Process Management market since 1996. Prior to joining Ultimus in 2001, he held various sales and management positions at multinational corporations including NCR and Compunet and was the Founder and Managing Director of i-media consulting, an internet/intranet solutions company. Karl earned a master degree in computer science from the University of Federal Armed Forces Germany in Munich and holds an executive MBA degree of the GSBA Zurich, Switzerland.

Dany Aoun, Senior Vice President- Global Sales
Dany Aoun heads all sales activities for Ultimus worldwide. He joined Ultimus in 2005 as the head for the Middle East and Africa operations and subsequently built Ultimus’ leadership position in this territory. As Senior Vice President - Global Sales, he ensures that successful proven models for customer success are shared around the world. Dany held various leadership positions with IBM, Oracle and EMC. He earned a bachelor degree in Computer Engineering from the American University in Beirut.

Andreas Kolbe, Vice President Global Finance
Andreas Kolbe oversees all Ultimus activities related to accounting, finance, human resources and administration. He joined Ultimus in 2011 and has over 15 years of experience in the financial management of software and services companies.
Andreas started his career as a corporate auditor with Deutsche Babcock. He later became Corporate Controller at Pro Sieben Group and CFO for Pro Sieben’s IT division. Most recently, he was VP Finance and Administration for IXOS (now OpenText) before becoming CFO for Audatex Germany, a division of Nasdaq-listed Solera.
Andreas earned an MBA (Dipl.-Kfm.) from the University of Würzburg, Germany.

Joachim Scholz, Vice President- Global Customer Service
Joachim Scholz leads all customer services activities for Ultimus worldwide, including process consulting, service delivery, customer support, and training. He joined Ultimus in 2005 as head of Product Support for the EMEA region. With more than 25 years of experience in the computer and telecommunication industry, Joachim has a deep understanding of what customers need to be successful.
Joachim started his career at Digital Equipment Corporation as a software developer and later became a major accounts project manager in Germany. In 1995, he became Digital’s Head of System Integrations before moving to Munich as Head of Project Management for Viag Intercom. In 2000, he joined OpenText Corporation as Director Global Services for Central Europe. Joachim holds a master degree in Mathematics and Computer Science of the University of Hannover.

Lewis K. Heaps, Chief Information Officer
Lewis Heaps manages Ultimus’ internal technology infrastructure and is responsible for internal process development, implementation as well as technology reuse initiatives. In this role, he is also responsible for internal process development and implementation as well as technology reuse initiatives. Lewis has been with Ultimus for 5 years and previously held positions as both Manager - IT and Internal Applications Group and Professional Services Manager. Prior to Ultimus Lewis held IT Management positions at Lotus (IBM) and Novell. His strong IT background has been instrumental in his building of several dedicated IT teams. He has in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Server & Client Operating Systems and is Microsoft MCP certified.

Chris Adams, Vice President- North America
Chris Adams oversees all operations and sales efforts for Ultimus in North America. He brings 17 years of experience in the software application field focusing on product management, product marketing, and ensuring customer care and success.
In his ten years at Ultimus, Chris has held a variety of positions including Vice President of Product Marketing and Management, Director of Product Management, and Development Support Manager. Prior to joining Ultimus, Chris served as Director of Product Management at Informa, a London-based conference company. At Informa, Chris oversaw the international deployment of software applications which unified country-specific software applications into worldwide software solutions. Chris attended North Carolina State University where he earned a B.S. in Mathematics and an M.S. in Computational Mathematics.

Vincent Yeung, President- Ultimus China
Vincent Yeung has led Ultimus operations in China and Hong Kong since joining the Company in 2007. He has more than sixteen years of experience in the IT industry in China, holding senior positions in sales, marketing, and operations with Hewlett-Packard and Sun Microsystems. While at Sun Microsystems, he successfully designed and implemented the Sun China CSO partner model and successfully implemented the Java Center of Excellence program as well as built the Sun Partner Development Center in China, enhancing the competitiveness of the company. As the General Manager of Channel Sales for Hewlett-Packard Service in China, Vincent built a Chinese channel sales team from scratch with an impressive sales track record. Vincent holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering and Electrical Engineering and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering, both from Purdue University, USA.

Frederic Bergé, President- Ultimus Latin America
Fred Bergé heads all operations and sales efforts for Ultimus in Latin America. Fred joined Ultimus in 2004 and opened and managed the Company’s Iberian operation. He was also Ultimus’ Southern Europe Manager and EMEA Business Development Manager.
Fred started his career as an Officer in the French Marine Commando School and later joined CCMX Paris as a Project Manager before joining Hyperion, where he held a number of sales management positions. He also held positions with Marketic, IONA, and WebMethods.
Fred earned a degree in computer science at Ecole Supérieure de Gestion in Paris, France and in marketing and management at the Institut Européen de Management International.
