Now that we have actually tried the bars, I'll revise my earlier review. Yes, they are based on the CocoChia Bars but THEY ARE A CLEAR IMPROVEMENT! They are less sweet (which is the main reason why we stopped buying the CocoChias) and they simply taste better. Everybody in my family (including my 7-year old daughter) loves them. And to those customers who are annoyed about the seeds that get stuck, I want to say this - do you also not eat spinach just because something green could get stuck between your teeth? Yes, some seeds do get stuck, but I don't think this is such a big issue. Just don't eat a bar before you're about to make a public appearance. But even then, I did not have any trouble to clean my teeth. Also, these bars are not the only food you can eat after a workout. In the old days people were perfectly able to climb mountains without any energy bars. They relied on amimal fats for energy - (nitrate-free) hard sausages, hard cheese, hard-boiled eggs and the likes. - I still love these bars as an option or simply as a great tasting treat. I just received my box of the cocoa cassava bars...they are delicious! I like the fact that these bars are not too sweet like the other "energy" bars. I had a couple of my co-workers try these bars and they also expressed that these bars are not too sweet and taste good, too.

In Dr. Mercola's defense...all of his products are described in fantastic detail in the main part of the website. Go to mercola.com, type the product name in search and click on the first find. All ingredients and needed info is there. I do think there should be a link to this info for people not accustomed to this site. These bars by the way are super! And of course kids can eat them! It is not a drug. Considering all the chemicals pumped into children these days, I'm very happy I can give mine a healthy bar like this and feel very good about it! Thank you for your knowledge and time dr mercola!

These bars are unbelievably good. They are the first "good for you" bar my 77 year old husband has ever enjoyed. They taste far too good! What can I do? Alas, I live in Canada.

These bars were wonderful. All of my kids ages 6, 8 and 10 love them so much they asked me to order many more boxes. I agree the price is a bit steep, but when your kids will eat something that is actually good for them it is worth the extra money.

My sister had these bars and I reluctantly took a bite since I think all "diet/protein" bars taste horrible. I am a VERY picky eater and I really LOVE these bars, SO much so I am buying 3 boxes. I am a diabetic and I read how good they are for you and will not significantly raise my glucose levels. These bars will be great for when I am on the go and when hunger sets in then those carb snacks are very easy eat and appealing. I am very skepitcal and you made me a believer in the Cocoa Cassava bars. Thank you Dr. Mercola for taking the time and MAKING sure these not only were very healthy for the consumer in addition to Diabetics and they TASTE wonderful!

I love these bars! I hear people complaining about the price, but it's only around $2.36 per bar! You pay more than that for an ice cream at Dairy Queen! I think it's a great deal, the bars taste great and are a great pick-me-up in the afternoons. Great job Mercola! Keep up the good work!

Yep, they're delicious. I love the Chia seeds too. I hope they're as good for you as he says... my daughter and I will be eating lots of them! They're even sweet enough for my chocolate loving 6 year old.

I've tried so many of these things. THESE ARE AWSOME! My 14-year old daughter is underweight at 58 pounds. She loves these as a snack and I don't mind giving them because they are so good for her.

Very good bars. They taste kind of like a brownie, but they're not quite as sweet. As a lot of others have said, the Chia seeds are a little bit annoying, and yes, they do get stuck in your teeth. They also leave a tiny bit of a herbal aftertaste. This is all minor, don't let it stop you from trying the Cocoa Cassava bars! Giving it a 5 star rating--for bars that are actually healthy, these things are amazing! I just got mine today and ate one a few minutes ago, and I already want another!

These are hands down the absolute best tasting bar around. Far superior in quality, ingredients and taste than any other protein bar. These bars are so good, they surpass any candy bar in taste. We actually have to hide these bars from our 2 year old.

I'm picky *AND* I have a sweet tooth... but these things are grrrreat (as Tony the tiger would say)! They're moist (unlike most bars), maybe cuz of the coconut oil? And they're sweet enough, even for me. For a real treat (like a Rich dessert), I've lightly heated the bar (I prefer to not use the microwave), then had it with organic strawberries. Speaking of organic... they would be perfect if the ingredients were all organic, as are a few other good bars that sell in the same price range. (But none of those taste as good as these. They're good enough that I think I'll go on autoship for the 3-pack.) Wadaya say about the organic part, Dr M? ~D

This is THE BEST tasting bar EVER. Better than any candy bar, energy bar on the market. I ate four in one day because they were so good. I had to restrain myself! I LOVE LOVE LOVE them and am back to get more! If you are debating on trying them, don't hesitate at all. Get them. THey are well worth the price!

Absolutely delicious! I was not disappointed. These bars satisfied my hunger for quite awhile. My 22 year old sons loved them so much.....they disappeared pretty fast. You might have to hide them if you want them to last! :)

I haven't been big into candy bars since I was quite young, even though I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE a dark, rich chocolate... I actually remember going 4 years with out ever having one. However, my one weakness has always been warm chewy, rich dark chocolate brownies (or just the brownie mix before it was cooked... yummm!). Now that I have discovered this healthy little treat, I can get my chocolate/coconut fix without feeling guilty. These bars melt in your mouth and are just rich and chocolaty enough to satisfy my craving... I don't even need to eat the whole bar! I share the other half with my other half who loves them just as much! Thank YOU Dr. Mercola!!! Your site is saving not only my life but that of my family! Keep up the awesome work!

These bars are my favorite! I love to have a bit of dessert after my lunch and knowing that these are healthy, I don't feel like I am doing anything wrong. :-) I eat it very slowly to enjoy that delicious creamy chocolate and I like the chia seeds because I know they are making my insides slipperier. :-) I really liked it when we could buy three boxes at a discount. These are to die for. I love chia seeds ( I use them in my smoothies), and they are wonderful for you. The chocolate in the bars is the most decadent you will ever have melt in your mouth! So satisfying, and kids of all ages love them as well. Kudos for a healthy, delicious snack my family and I can enjoy without guilt!

Bars are absolutely delicious, especially if you love coconut! However, the chia seeds are a nuisance. Their consistency is awful. I also have diverticulosis and am concerned about these seeds. Why are they even necessary for this wonderful tasting bar? Please take out those seeds!
