Job Description:
The Developer Support Engineer will utilize programming and debugging skills to assist Ultimus customers in analyzing and resolving issues, with the assistance of the product management, development and support teams. This is a senior technical position that has a wide variety of roles that may require that you assist customers directly to correcting defects deep inside the core of the product. Ultimus is an enterprise application that is comprised of many modules and interfaces with multiple technologies such as XML, Active Directory, SharePoint, IIS, COM, Oracle, SQL and Windows technology. This position requires a senior level, working knowledge of these technologies and will report to the Director of Customer Relations and Support.
The role also requires documenting case histories, creating support documentation and the tracking of cases through the escalation process to resolution.
We will train you to become the product expert, but look to you to bring the programming skills, strong communication abilities and a desire to provide exceptional customer support.
Minimal travel and variable hours from 9:00am – 8:00pm EST may be required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5+ years of professional experience developing & supporting Enterprise Applications using C/C++
- C#, VB.NET, ASP.NET, Windows Foundations and JavaScript knowledge
- Experience working with COM and COM+
- MSI, Installer packaging and Batch file experience
- SQL Server 2005, 2008, Oracle 10g and 11g R2
- MS Office Automation
- XML, HTML
- IIS 6 and 7 Security and configuration
- SharePoint 2007 and 2010 configuration and troubleshooting
- Windows Server 2003-2008 R2
- Superior troubleshooting and debugging skills
- Ability to write and interpret custom debug messaging within product dlls
- Can build executable and MSI packages
- Debugging tool experience, Fiddler, Process Analyzer, DebugView
- Customer facing experience or strong desire/willingness to interact with customers
- Effective communication skills
- Verbal –professional, able to ask relevant questions and listen to the customer
- Written –professional, clear and concise documentation
Education:
- BSCS / MSCS in related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
